Senator Greg Dolezal and Representative Todd Jones are celebrating the final passage of the "Georgia Promise Scholarship Act," sponsored by Sen. Greg Dolezal and awaiting signature by Governor Brian P. Kemp. The act will provide participating students with $6,500.00 in scholarship funds each school year and create the Georgia Education Savings Authority to administer the Promise Scholarship Program.
Lt. Governor Burt Jones commended the passage of the measure, emphasizing the importance of giving parents greater control over their children's educational needs. Senator Dolezal expressed his gratitude for the support received in passing the measure, highlighting the bill's focus on prioritizing families in the decision-making process for their children's education.
In response to the passage of Senate Bill 233, Representative Todd Jones remarked, "A sea change moment has occurred with SB 233 as we put the child at the center of every education decision in our great state."
