Today, Congressman Andrew Clyde introduced a new piece of legislation aimed at preventing illegal aliens from purchasing firearms using government-issued identification. The bill, named the No Guns for Illegal Aliens Act, addresses concerns over the ability of undocumented individuals to obtain driver's licenses in 19 states and Washington, D.C., as well as ID cards distributed through ICE's Secure Docket Card pilot program.

The introduction of this legislation comes amidst reports that over 600,000 illegal aliens with criminal histories have been released into the United States under the current administration. According to Congressman Clyde, these include thousands convicted of serious crimes such as homicide, assault, and weapon offenses.

"Border Czar Kamala Harris has allowed criminal illegal aliens to enter our country and roam our streets," stated Clyde. He further criticized political figures like Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for policies he believes exacerbate the issue by offering driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants.

Clyde emphasized the need for preventive measures: "States like Georgia know the painful realities of illegal alien crime all too well. It’s imperative that we do more to protect Americans from dangerous illegal aliens."
