Kirk Cousins has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the NFL on Wednesday. This recognition marks the second time this season and this month that Cousins has received this honor.

Cousins led all quarterbacks in October with 1,242 passing yards, narrowly surpassing Lamar Jackson by one yard. His performance included 10 touchdown passes, ranking third for the month, and a passer rating of 109, placing him fifth overall.

Both selections came after victories against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cousins threw for 276 yards with a completion rate of 79.3% and four touchdowns in their recent 31-26 win. He achieved a passer rating of 145.9, the highest in the NFL during Week 8.

Falcons head coach Raheem Morris commented on Cousins' performance: "That was probably his cleanest game as a quarterback as an Atlanta Falcon. I know it's hard to say when you threw for 500 yards one week... I was really pleased with the quarterback play yesterday."

Earlier this season, Cousins earned player of the week honors after throwing for 509 yards and four touchdowns in Week 5 against the Buccaneers. His eight touchdown passes against them during October set an NFL record for most touchdowns by any quarterback against a single opponent in one month.

This is also notable as it marks only the fourth time a Falcon has been designated NFC Player of the Week, with Jessie Bates III and Troy Andersen receiving defensive honors earlier this season.

Cousins has now received this accolade nine times throughout his career, twice while playing for Atlanta.
