The Atlanta Falcons secured a 27-21 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in their Week 9 NFL matchup at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game attracted 72,665 fans.

In the red zone, the Falcons maintained a perfect record for the third consecutive game, converting all three attempts. This season, they have converted 16 out of 28 red-zone opportunities, achieving a conversion rate of 57.1%, their best since 2018 and ranking them 12th in the league.

The team has achieved a 6-3 record for the first time since their Super Bowl run in 2016. Historically, teams with this record after nine games have a strong chance of reaching the postseason.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins now ranks fourth among active quarterbacks with three or more touchdown passes in 43 games. Running back Bijan Robinson continues to impress with his performance against the Cowboys, totaling at least 100 scrimmage yards for four consecutive games.

Several notable facts emerged from the game: Cousins has thrown as many touchdowns through Week 9 as former quarterbacks Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke combined last year; punter Bradley Pinion recorded a season-high five punts; and special teams successfully defended against a fake punt for two weeks running.

Falcons coach Raheem Morris commented on their current standing: "I know (owner Arthur Blank) wants more than six wins, and I know it's my job to go out there and get it."

Kirk Cousins remarked on maintaining motivation during winning streaks: "This league will beat you up... We all need encouragement."

Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett expressed optimism about future performances: "I know that our best football is still yet to come."

Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs acknowledged Cousins' skill: "He's very difficult... You can't give him a clean pocket."

Key players included Bijan Robinson with significant rushing yards and Darnell Mooney leading receivers with five receptions for a touchdown. Kirk Cousins delivered an efficient passing performance while Kaden Elliss led in tackles.

Looking ahead, the Falcons will face NFC South rivals New Orleans Saints next Sunday at Caesars Superdome. The Saints are currently on a seven-game losing streak following their recent loss to Carolina Panthers.
