The Georgia Swarm lacrosse team is set to face the Las Vegas Desert Dogs for the first time on Saturday, February 1. The match will take place at Lee’s Family Forum and will start at 10:00 PM ET (7:00 PM PT). This event coincides with the second annual Tucker Out Lymphoma Night, which honors Desert Dogs’ Head Coach and GM Shawn Williams' son, Tucker, who passed away from Burkitt's Lymphoma in December 2014. Both teams will wear special lime green jerseys during the game, with proceeds from a jersey auction going to pediatric oncology research.

The Swarm aims to break their three-game losing streak following a narrow 12-11 overtime defeat against the Calgary Roughnecks. The team boasts strong offensive players such as Lyle Thompson, the league's top scorer, along with Bryan Cole and Andrew Kew. Recently added player Miles Thompson is expected to enhance their offensive strategy. However, the Swarm's defense needs improvement to overcome their opponents. Questions remain about goaltender Brett Dobson's form and whether defensive player Adam Wiedemann will return after his injury on December 29 against Colorado.

On the other side, the Desert Dogs are gaining momentum after a significant 12-10 victory over the San Diego Seals. Jack Hannah contributed notably with a hat trick and five assists in that game. Goalie Justin Geddie also made an impact with 43 saves. The Desert Dogs’ teamwork and strategic plays will be crucial in this upcoming matchup.

Following this game, the Swarm will return home for their only February home game on February 7 against the Colorado Mammoth in Duluth, GA.
