Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) continues to do all it can to help address a shortage of primary care providers across the state, as eight young students recently graduated from the Pathway to Med School program.
Piedmont has leased 25,000-square-feet of space in the Shoppes at Martin’s Crossing, about one mile from the Piedmont Newton Hospital campus, for medical offices. The shopping center will be renamed Eastside Crossing and is adjacent to the popular Eastside Trail. Renovations are slated for completion in early 2023.
The Northside Hospital system and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Georgia today announced they have finalized a new agreement that provides access to care at Northside for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s members. “Northside Hospital has an unwavering focus on patients and their families, and that always is our mission,” said Scott Wade, vice president of Northside Hospital.
Patients will now experience a more streamlined and organized hospital stay thanks to a new Care Traffic Control Center at Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS).

Piedmont Newton Hospital has announced Beth Timberlake, MHA, BSN as its new chief nursing officer (CNO). Timberlake joined Piedmont in March 2019, and she served most recently as the director of Women’s and Surgical Services at Piedmont Newton.
