City of Gainesville issued the following announcement on October 21.
The break has been repaired and service restored.
The Gainesville Department of Water Resources (DWR) is working to restore water to approximately 250 customers following a 16-inch water main break at Spout Springs Road and Ivy Springs Drive in Flowery Branch.
DWR identified the following as areas of impact, with outages lasting four to five hours: Spout Springs Road from Capitola Farm Road to Ivy Springs Drive, including Iris Drive, Garden Lane, Wood Spring Court, Flat Rock Drive, Farm Ridge Court, Shady Valley Drive and Parkland Place.
Customers impacted should receive notice of a boil water advisory through DWR's "reverse 911" automated system. These calls will be received by the phone numbers associated with customers’ accounts.
Those navigating the area are urged to drive carefully, and watch for construction workers and equipment during this time.
