Rep. Andrew Clyde, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia's 9th district, has made a series of statements via social media regarding judicial and legislative matters. Clyde, who succeeded Doug Collins in 2021, expressed his views on topics ranging from impeachment to legislative reforms.
On February 12, 2025, Rep. Andrew Clyde announced his intention to draft articles of impeachment against U.S. District Judge John McConnell Jr., stating that the judge is "a partisan activist weaponizing our judicial system to stop President Trump’s funding freeze on woke and wasteful government spending." He emphasized the need to end what he described as "abusive overreach" here.
Later that day, Clyde highlighted his efforts alongside Senator Mike Lee to repeal the Impoundment Control Act, which he described as unconstitutional. He argued that this repeal would be one of the most effective ways for Congress to assist President Trump and DOGE here.
