40

Northside Hospital Forsyth recently issued the following announcement.

Northside hospitals in Atlanta, Cherokee, Duluth, Forsyth and Gwinnett have once again earned The Joint Commission’s (TJC) Gold Seal of Approval® for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Certification.

Each hospital also was rated 'high performing' for both hip replacement and knee replacement in U.S. News & World Report’s 2021-22 Best Hospitals rankings. In addition, Northside Hospital Forsyth was recognized in 2022 by Healthgrades as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals™ for Joint Replacement for the fourth consecutive year.

“These certifications are recognition of all the hard work done by so many teams and individuals to provide excellence in patient care in regard to joint replacement surgery," said Dr. Kenneth J. Kress, Arthritis & Total Joint Specialists, a Northside network provider. "I am so fortunate to be part of an organization that constantly strives to put patient safety and outcomes as their primary focus."

Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute's team of advanced joint surgery specialists, which includes the most board-certified and fellowship-trained joint replacement surgeons in the region, provides expert and comprehensive total joint surgery care, producing nationally recognized results.

The TJC Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care. Each Northside Hospital received its two-year certification after undergoing a voluntary review of its clinical programs across the continuum of care for total hip and total knee replacement surgery and demonstrated its continuous compliance with TJC’s performance standards.

“Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Certification recognizes health care organizations committed to fostering continuous quality improvement in patient safety and quality of care,” says Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Accreditation and Certification Operations, and chief nursing executive, The Joint Commission. “We commend Northside Hospital for using certification to reduce variation in its clinical processes and to strengthen its program structure and management framework for total hip and total knee replacement patients.”
