Hall County extends public invitation to Tadmore Park ribbon cutting

After an 11-year closure, Tadmore Park will open its gates to the public once more. The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting at Tadmore Park, located on Tadmore Park Drive off of Gillsville Highway at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1.

The park, which closed in 2011 due to budget cuts amid the Great Recession, has received a much needed revitalization to its existing features, as well as several new features for visitors to enjoy.

“Parks are an integral part of building community, offering Hall County citizens a place to interact and to enjoy sports and the outdoors. We’re excited to invite Hall County citizens to utilize all that Tadmore Park has to offer,” said District 3 Commissioner Shelly Echols, in whose district the park sits.

The ribbon cutting will take place in the new Tadmore Park pavilion, complete with free cupcakes and refreshments to celebrate the occasion. Other updates to the park include the resurfacing of the basketball court and the .25-mile walking trail, two refurbished baseball fields and complete resurfacing of the parking lots. In addition to the updates, the park received a new playground, new picnic tables and grills in the pavilion, two new restroom buildings, a new multi-purpose field and new concrete walking paths that lead from the parking lots to the soccer fields.

“This is an exciting time for Hall County Parks & Leisure. We know how valuable parks are to their communities, and we can’t wait to renew this offering to the Tadmore community,” said Brent Holloway, director of Parks and Community Services.
