Enrollment at Gainesville City School District increased by 2.4% compared to previous school year

There were 7,701 students enrolled in Gainesville City School District in the 2022-23 school year, 2.4% more than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were male, and 49% were female.

Data also shows that most of the students were Hispanic, representing 62% of the Gainesville City School District's total enrollment.

Gainesville City School District roughly covers nine schools within Hall County and has a main office in Gainesville.

Among the nine schools in Gainesville City School District, Gainesville High School recorded the highest enrollment of 2,240 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Chronic absenteeism in Georgia has declined from its 2022 peak of 25%, but it still remains above pre-pandemic levels (11.8%). In 2024, about 20.7% of all students in the state missed 10% or more of their classes.
