Born in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada in 1963 and currently residing in Athens, Clyde has a background in business administration and political science from institutions including the University of Notre Dame and the University of Georgia.
On March 12, 2025, Rep. Clyde commented on changes to immigration policy with a post stating "CBP One App CBP Home App President Trump is EMPTYING our country of illegal aliens."
Later that day, he reflected on cultural and political shifts by declaring "America’s Golden Age has begun—and we’re leaving the Left’s woke, divisive agenda in the past. So long, BLM Plaza."
On March 13, 2025, Rep. Clyde addressed tensions between Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and President Trump by posting "What changed? The President of the United States. Chuck Schumer has such a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that he’s threatening to shut down the government to sabotage President Trump’s America First agenda. #SchumerShutdown"
