The Atlanta Falcons have announced the signing of defensive lineman Morgan Fox. The news was confirmed by a joint report from NFL Network and Fox Sports reporters on March 14.

Fox's contract is reportedly for two years and could be worth more than $8.5 million. Over his eight-year career, Fox has played in nearly every game, except during his rookie season. He has started 34 games, with a high of 12 starts in 2022.

The 30-year-old recently completed three seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he recorded 15.5 sacks, including a career-high of 6.5 in 2022. He also achieved double-digit quarterback hits in both 2022 and 2023. In addition to his sacks, Fox made 80 tackles, with 17 for a loss, and had one pass breakup in 2024.

Before joining the Chargers, Fox spent the 2021 season with the Carolina Panthers. During that time, he played in all 17 games with nine starts and accumulated several defensive stats including sacks and forced fumbles.

Fox's longest tenure was with the Los Angeles Rams from 2016 to 2020 after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2016. Despite spending the entire 2019 season on injured reserve due to a knee injury, he managed to record significant defensive statistics over four active seasons.

Throughout his career, Fox has consistently recorded at least one sack each season since first sacking then-Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins during a game against Washington Commanders in Week 2 of the Rams' 2017 season.

Fox will now join forces with Falcons head coach Raheem Morris who became part of the Rams coaching staff after Fox left in 2021. The Falcons are looking to fill a veteran gap left by Grady Jarrett's departure to the Chicago Bears and hope that Fox can bring valuable experience alongside David Onyemata to mentor younger players like Ruke Orhorhoro and Brandon Dorlus.
