A week after the 2025 free agency market opened, the Atlanta Falcons have made several defensive signings. Among them are linebacker Divine Deablo and edge rusher Leonard Floyd. The Falcons' editorial staff, including Tori McElhaney, Will McFadden, and Terrin Waack, discussed which signee is the most intriguing.

McElhaney did not choose Floyd despite his prominence: "I know who and what Floyd is... That's why — even though he's the biggest signing so far — he doesn't intrigue me too much." Instead, she finds Divine Deablo intriguing due to his unique skill set that combines speed with coverage ability. She noted that Deablo could potentially push Troy Andersen for a starting position.

McFadden also expressed interest in Deablo's signing: "I don't think he's going to be a gamechanger in any sense, but I do believe he's a quality player." He highlighted Deablo's potential role in covering space and contributing on special teams while providing insurance against Andersen's injury history.

Waack focused on Mike Ford's return to the team: "I am always intrigued when a player returns to an organization." Ford previously played for the Falcons in 2022 and is expected to contribute primarily on special teams.

While Leonard Floyd may have a significant impact for Atlanta in 2025, it is Divine Deablo who has captured attention due to his potential contributions under new defensive schemes led by Jeff Ulbrich and Raheem Morris.
