Rep. Andrew Clyde, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia's 9th district, shared several comments on social media regarding national security and public safety. Born in Canada and now residing in Athens, Clyde has served in Congress since 2021.
On April 14, 2025, Clyde expressed his views on immigration policy under President Trump, stating that "Thanks to President Trump, America is no longer a safe haven for criminal illegal aliens."
The following day, April 15, 2025, he shared his thoughts on the prioritization of citizen safety, imagining potential impacts if political priorities shifted. He wrote, "Imagine how many American lives could have been saved over the past four years if Democrats cared as much about U.S. citizens as they do criminal illegal aliens."
Later that day, Clyde addressed past comments by former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and commended another official for their efforts. He said, "Absolutely horrific. Remember when Pete Buttigieg, our previous Transportation Secretary, dismissed crime in our nation’s capital? Thank you, @SecDuffy, for working to make D.C. safe again for the American people."
Clyde is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Bethel University and later completed his education at the University of Georgia in 1999.
